Rose Bowl Sailing Boats Event

The home of Hampshire County Cricket recently saw a skills and careers day hosted by Solent Skills Quest with colleges and employers showing off the range of options available to 16 year olds. The event saw over 2000 students from various schools in the region.

Schools Marine Challenge was there with a short challenge to encourage students to look at the marine engineering sector. The task was to design and race sail boats in a 7m test pond, we even provided the wind!

An average of 4 students per team took part in five rounds.
The Youth Apprentices from Oxford and Cherwell Valley College also attended the day.
