British Marine Federation
The BMF are the organising body behind the Schools Marine Challenge.
They are the trade association for the UK marine industry, representing
the industry both domestically and abroad. It has over 1,500 members,
many of which are small businesses, and works to promote boating
and the boating industry to the public, government and other stakeholders.
The British Marine Federation is the sister organisation of National
Boat Shows Ltd, which runs the London and Southampton Boat Shows
each January and September.

Engineering Your Future
Engineering Your Future is the portal representing the team that
runs the Schools Marine Challenge. Responsible for many engineering
initiatives within the education sector, the site leads to various
projects, including Formula Schools and Gravity Racer. |

Formula Schools
The sister challenge to Schools Marine; over 100 schools took part
in Formula Schools last year. The motor sport engineering site has
alarge curriculum section which may be of help to some students. |

Learning Grid
The Learning Grid meets the needs of students, teachers and businesses
by setting a Quality Standard, support and often funding for inter-disciplinary
programmes and competitions for young people that are linked to
engineering, science, design, technology or mathematics. Some of
the approved initiatives are included as part of the National Curriculum
for those subjects and are designed to inspire young people through
their experiences at school to become tomorrow's scientists, technicians,
engineers and designers. Only those activities that have been scrutinised
by an Independent panel of educationalists can use the 'Approved'
stamp. |

Nimrif Models
Nimrif have been great supporters of the Marine Challenge since
it began. They are willing to help schools in their area, and their
site is well worth visiting to gain some inspiration from the high
powered models on display! |

Concept Boat
Concept Boat is an annual competition, now in its fourth year,
intended to encourage interest in the design of future boats and
to show the global small craft industry how they believe boating
should develop. The Competition covers the full range of recreational
and commercial/working boats, and each year has a different theme.

National Maritime Museum
Based in Greenwich, the museum is an excellent destination for
students involved in the challenge, but also provides an interesting
array of interactive puzzles and information. |

Sea Britain
SeaBritain 2005 is a national maritime celebration on a grand scale.
With festivities and events throughout 2005 and beyond, SeaBritain
2005 celebrates the ways in which the sea touches all of our lives. |

Young Engineers For Britain
Young Engineers is an educational charity whos purpose is
to inspire young people to recognise the importance and excitement
of a career in engineering. It has a national network of clubs and
runs several competitions and challenges to engage its members. |

South West Regional Development
Agency
The South West RDA is charged by the government to ensure the economic
and cultural wellbing of the South West government region. |
